When I got Echo about 8 years ago, I loved to go to the barn. Time spent with the horses improved my mood, happiness, and energy, and I would leave the barn feeling peaceful and content. At times after a tough day I would actually crave “barn time.”
One day a blinding flash of the obvious came to me. What if I could “take the barn with me?” In other words, notice what I felt and experienced at the barn, and take that energy with me? This became a healing, very effective practice that inspired my book and made my coaching come alive. It also led me to find Amigo, the perfect horse to complement Echo.
When we discover how to be happier, healthier, and more effective, we can bring our best selves to all that we do. The result is more authentic, impactful leadership — and happier lives.
Science has proven that practicing leadership with horses brings forward our unconscious talents and gifts to make them conscious, and effective coaching with these discoveries helps us apply them to be more effective in life.
Where is your “barn space?” How can you manifest it in the rest of your life?
Spring is a great time to visit the barn and discover your best self!
