Recently in working with Echo I noticed he was not as enthusiastic or willing to try new exercises. My trainer reminded me to “Reward the Try”. Great equestrians know that they need to reward their horse’s efforts and steps of progress frequently and clearly. Echo needed to know he was on the right track, and that his efforts were appreciated. This simple change made a night and day difference in our relationship and his performance.
